• I work with adults, adolescents (15+), couples, and consensually non-monogamous partners across the spectrums of identity and orientation.

  • I am a firm believer that symptoms, experiences, and patterns felt in the present are indelibly rooted in the past. As such, I am keenly interested in learning about patients’ early life experiences and the landscape of their relationships. I collaborate with patients to understand the nature of their relationships, their respective impact over time, and how they are showing up in the present.

Good, relational psychotherapy — the type I strive to offer — is able to utilize the rich, dynamic, and here-and-now nature of the therapeutic relationship for the patient's benefit. In its best form, our relationship — built first and foremost from a foundation of trust and care — will serve as a vehicle for gained self-understanding.

I consider my patients to be the experts of their own lives and therefore, follow their lead. With that, I feel it is my professional duty to remain curious, observe honestly, and ask the questions that will advance the work in a therapeutic way.

  • My institute training included a specialty track on dynamic couples psychotherapy. I work with couples in monogamous relationships — as well as partners in consensual non-monogamous relationships — to understand how dynamic, co-constructed patterns underlie specific concerns within their relationship(s).

In essence, the work is to understand how the intersection of respective relational histories and inner worlds are showing up in marriage or partnership. This work tends to revolve around issues of intimacy, infidelity, communication, parenting, and marital separation.

  • My practice lends itself toward those who suffer from depression, other mood disorders, anxiety, attachment/relationship concerns, family conflict, grief and loss, self-esteem concerns, suicidality, identity issues, relational trauma, family conflict, and codependency. I am passionate about working with couples/partners who may be experiencing these concerns directly or are finding that they are persistent barriers to relating healthily.

I tend to find most success with those willing to explore their past, remain curious about the present, and “play” with fantasy, metaphor, and their inner world(s). Regardless of reported symptoms or diagnoses, your unique life experiences and humanness will remain at the forefront of the therapeutic work.

  • Sessions are generally conducted once-weekly. I maintain standing time slots for each patient.

Over time, we may decide to increase or decrease the frequency of sessions depending on your needs.

  • Yes. I am in-network with Quest Behavioral Health.

For all other insurance plans, I am an out-of-network provider. Most PPO plans offer reimbursement for out-of-network providers once the annual deductible is met. For those seeking reimbursement from insurance companies, I provide a monthly statement (a “superbill”) for services rendered.

If you are planning on using out-of-network benefits, I recommend contacting your insurance company to determine if you have mental health coverage, information on your deductible, and what amount is eligible for reimbursement.

  • Yes. I offer reduced fees for those who are ineligible for insurance reimbursement and/or have financial barriers to a full fee.

Identifying a sliding scale fee entails an open and honest discussion regarding the current state of one’s finances. The goal is to make therapy accessible while honoring the work taking place.

If you have questions regarding fee structure — or are unsure if you are eligible for a reduced fee — please reach out.

  • Yes. I offer 20-minute phone consultations for any prospective patient(s) in order to gauge goodness-of-fit.

To set up a consultation, please reach out by phone, e-mail, TherapyDen, or Psychology Today.
